Attorney Profiles

Bob is a well-known trial attorney, specializing in all aspects of bad faith insurance litigation. He has practiced law in California for over thirty years. While maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics, he has obtained multi-million dollar judgments, favorable appellate decisions, substantial arbitration awards and out-of-court settlements on behalf of his clients. Bob's clients have ranged from individuals victimized by insurance companies, to large banks and industrial companies who recognize the value of having him as their insurance expert to get the best possible deal from insurance companies, and he has been lead counsel in a class action on behalf of defrauded policyholders nationwide.

Bob attended United States International University, receiving a B.A. in 1971. In 1975, he obtained his J.D. from California Western School of Law, where he now sits on the Board of Trustees and is a member of the Executive Committee. He initially practiced labor law after law school, but after joining the law offices of William M. Shernoff in 1984, he has consistently fought insurance companies on behalf of consumers and businesses in California.

Bob is a member and former Chairman of the Committee on Group Insurance Programs of the State Bar of California. Also, Bob has served on the Board of the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Practice sub-committees on Disability, Health and Life Insurance. He has served as a member of the California State Bar Court (discipline arm of the State Bar), been a special prosecutor for the California State Bar and is a Special Master for the California State Bar.
